Let's Talk About the Attacks on YTB

Now let's talk about California & some of the Attacks being made on YTB :

Have you ever heard of a company, that has never had a bad word spoken about them? Let me use an example of one company that you all know about and have heard about.

Before I tell you the name of this company let me ask you a question.
Would you invest or buy stock in a company that has:
Been sued so many times, can't be counted.
Thousand if not millions of unhappy customers around the world.
If you were to ask 8 out of 10 people about this company they will tell you that they have had a numerous bad experience with their product at least on a daily basis.
More bad press then any company has ever had in history.
In trouble with the department of Justice and local state agency for anti-trust in the past years.
If you search Google and search for their name + lawsuit your will find 26,900 websites about this company.
In trouble with the FTC numerous times.
Paid millions of dollars in fines of the years.
Numerous class-action lawsuit currently in supreme courts.
History of releasing bad products, before they have been tested properly. Oh, by the way I should also tell you that this company has over 80% of the market share in their category.
Their stock price has been up and down over the years.
Have also lost millions of customers over the years.
I know what most of you are thinking, I would not only never use their product or service, but also would never buy their stock.
Right?

And, if you said NO, NO, NO. Then you would have missed out on one of the best producing companies in history.

And most of you should just stop using your computer because the company I have been talking about is: Microsoft.

My point is:
That if you are looking for bad news about any company you will find it. If people are not talking about a company, the company is most likely not growing or doing anything.
People love bad news, bad news sells.
It took Microsoft over 15 years to hit 1 Billion in sales annually.
YTB is about to do it in 8.
Only 90 BBB filings against YTB? In comparison to other similar online agencies listed in Travel Weekly's top 35, that's a great track record!
Other BBB top complaint companies:Expedia.com - The BBB processed a total of 1024 complaints about this company in the last 36 months.
Orbitz - The BBB processed a total of 1729 complaints about this company in the last 36 months
Travelocity - Number of complaints processed by the BBB in the last 36 months: 1528. And in the last 12 months: 533.
Not to mention...American Express (Travel Related Services Co.) - The BBB processed a total of 606 complaints about this company in the last 12 MONTHS.

Some of you know and some of you don't know that California filed a lawsuit against YTB for deceptive sales practices and operating a pyramid scheme. We don't have any secrets here at YTB and we don't keep any secrets.

YTB has been in meetings with California for months over a new proposed law in that state concerning the travel industry and it's potential impact on our business. The discussions reached a stalemate and California filed suit.

Folks, this is not the first time YTB has been challenged.

When any company is revolutionizing an industry, and growing faster than any other company in the industry, the industry doesn't like it. In our case, that is the travel industry. It is not a coincidence that last year YTB showed up as #35 on the Power List, and within 3 months we were challenged by IATA, Royal Caribbean, and Rhode Island.

Why do you think that happened?
The industry doesn't like us.

Now we are #26 on the Power List. This lawsuit is a result of the INDUSTRY putting pressure on the lawmakers, not an issue of whether YTB is in compliance with California law.

We will be challenged. We will be shot at.It has happened to EVERY company that changed an industry. It happened to Microsoft, Walmart, IBM, McDonalds, Amway, Mary Kay, Excel, A.L. Williams, and every other company that revolutionized their industry. Why do you think we would be different --- especially when we are taking over the largest industry in the world?
This is EXPECTED.

Coach, Scott, and Kim are not rookies to this business. They have fought these battles before and won. The blessing WE have is that we have them running the show, and they have "been there, done that" before and been victorious.

During this time we will lose some weak reps. We know that. There will be competitors out there trying to steal our people. We know that. There will be some fear and indecision out there. We know that too.

But there will also be LEADERS that step up.There will be CHAMPIONS born. There will be people that just decide that WE ARE READY for a fight.

That's US.WE are READY FOR THE FIGHT.We are READY to go kick some butt.We are READY to STAND UP AND LEAD OUR TEAM THROUGH THIS CHALLENGE.

DON'T YOU EVER DOUBT your company's commitment to YOU.DON'T YOU EVER DOUBT that we will win this thing.DON'T YOU EVER DOUBT that YTB will be the #1 Travel Company in the World --- No Matter What We Have To Go Through.

REST ASSURED --- YTB is all over this issue. Our attorneys are already in California working on this. This WILL BE RESOLVED, and when it is, YTB will be even stronger because of it.
Have faith in Coach, Scott, Kim, and your company to handle this matter. They will handle it. It is just a bump in the road.

There are 4 things that WE can do to help.
1) Sell more travel.Tell EVERYONE you know that you own a travel business and ask them to book their travel with someone they know vs someone they don't know. The more travel we sell, the more power we have.
2) Sell more Travel Stores.Go find every friend you have that wants to get paid to travel, get tax deductions when they travel, and travel for less, and sell them a travel store. The more travel stores we have, the more travel we sell.
3) Do not talk to the media. If someone tries to talk to you that has a notebook, a microphone or a camera, just tell them to send their questions to media@ytb.com, and refuse to talk with them. We have to let Coach, Scott and Kim fight this battle. We need to stay out of it.
4) Step Up and LEAD YOUR TEAM.Nobody wants to follow a weak, disillusioned, crybaby, pansy. At times like this, they look for STRONG, COMMITTED, POWERFUL Leadership. You need to STEP UP and be that LEADER for your team.Talk to them. Keep them informed. Let them know where you stand.Tell them --- You can quit if you want to, but I'M STAYING RIGHT HERE FOR THE FIGHT. It's gonna be WORTH it to me and my family for generations to come. That's what Leaders do.

Team, Coach, Scott, Kim, and all of the Directors that were in that meeting last night are a FAMILY. We are here for the long haul. There is NO FEAR in any of our eyes.None of us came here to get this far and fail.WE WILL WIN THIS THING.WE WILL BE THE #1 Travel Company in the world.WE ARE READY FOR THE FIGHT.
We never said it would be EASY.We said it would be WORTH IT.
You just BE TOUGH, and communicate to your teams that they just have to BE TOUGH, and we will ALL WIN.

Let's go BUILD A COMPANY TOGETHER.

10 Basic Tips For YTB Success

You need to show this list when you sign up new RTAs and Reps for your YTB business.

The 10 Basic Things you need to consistently do in order to have success with YTB!

1) ROAD MAP: Make a list of all the people you know. When you have a wedding in the family you pretty much do the same - just add more people than you would for a wedding. These are people that you want to share YTB with. Put EVERYONE you know on this list. You will want to add and remove names from your list everyday.

2) GET BUSINESS CARDS: You need business cards for any business, including for YTB. You can either print them yourself or have them them ordered. Your cards are a tax deduction. Your Sponsor or Power Team Leader can direct you where to purchase your business cards. You want to try to hand out at least five per day which if you add this up throughout the year it will give you 1,825 contacts throughout the year. When you hand someone a business card, make sure to ask for their business card. Then you have their contact information. You should hand out cards like candy and sometimes people will have the sweet tooth and ask you about the business.

3) SUCCESS FROM HOME MAGAZINE: They call it SUCCESS for a reason. If you have not read or purchased a magazine yet, then please do so. You can purchase them at Barnes and Nobles or through your back office. If you want a $6K guarantee then subscribe to the auto shipment.

4) TRAVEL PARTIES: Try to have, host or attend three every week. Even if you don't have any guests yourself, you should at least attend some to support others. You will see how they do it and you'll learn more about your business every time. Remember that you can "invest in yourself" without spending money and this is one of the ways to do so. Just plug into the events in your area.

5) COACH'S CALL EVERY SATURDAY & OTHER CONFERENCE CALLS: Please take the time, which is only 30 minutes every Saturday, to listen to our founder as he discusses information about YTB and provides motivation and inspiration to all of us. The number for the Coach's Call, which starts at 11:00 a.m., is 641-594-7505. Even better - log into your back offing and watch it live in streaming video. The other conference calls are found in your back office on the left side where it says conference calls. Take advantage of this information that is passed along through these calls which are also achieved so you can listen at a later time.

6) ATTEND AS MANY TRAINING AND COMPANY EVENTS AS POSSIBLE: Attend Opportunity Meetings and CRTA Training as often as possible even if you have already been to a CRTA. You always learn something new each time you hear about your business.

7) 3 WAY CALLS: Most of us have done some of these. People will often need validation from others. This is one of the backbones to the marketing side of YTB and you will hear that all leaders continue to use validation with their prospects from their upline.

8) REVIEWING YOUR DREAMS AND GOALS: Ask yourself what you want for yourself and your family and their families for generations to come? Take a serious look at 2008 and what you wish you could change about it. What do you want to leave in 2008 and not bring with you into a new year? Discuss this with your family and once you know what your dreams and goals are, write them down and put them in front of you. Take a look at them every morning and every evening. Tell yourself and others what is going to happen to you over the next 12 months.

9) ATTEND YTB'S RED CARPET EVENT: The schedule for the fall was just announced. This is the time to plan a visit the YTB Headquarters. Bring guests as well and let them kick the tires on your company. This is a great recruiting tool and lets others meet our leaders and see that we have well over 350 home office employees. This event just like the National Convention will truly open your eyes...FOREVER!

10) ALWAYS BE A STUDENT OF THE BUSINESS: Remain coachable regardless of your past and present success level and maintain an incredible work ethic. These two things alone will carry you and your YTB organization to a great future.

YTB and Sam's House

Sam was an elderly carpenter ready to retire after working 36 years for the same contractor. He told his employer that he was going to leave the house building business and live a more leisure life with his wife while enjoying his children and grandchildren. Sam knew he would miss the paycheck, but he felt the need to retire. If they adjusted their spending habits they could get by.

His boss was sorry to see his good worker go and asked Sam if he would be willing to build just one more house as a personal favor. Sam reluctantly said yes, but in time it was easy to see that his heart was just not in his work.

He resorted to shoddy workmanship and even used inferior materials. It really was an unfortunate way to end his career.

When Sam finished his work and the builder came to inspect the house, the contractor handed him the front-door key. "This is your house," he said, "My gift to you."Imagine Sam’s shock!

What a shame! If he had only known he was building his own house, he would have done it all so differently. Now he had to live in the home he knew that he had not built too well.

Unfortunately, this is the way it is with most of us. We build our lives in a distracted way, reacting rather than acting, willing to put out less than our best. We do not give our best efforts when it comes to our jobs or our YTB businesses. We are given the opportunity to excel and secure our future, but we do not take advantage of the opportunity.

Then with a shock we look at the situation we have created and too late we find that we are now living in the house we have built.

If we had realized, we would have done it differently. Of course!

Think of yourself as Sam. Think about your house. Each day you hammer a nail, place a board or erect a wall. Build wisely. It is the only life you will ever build. Even if you live it for only one more day, that day deserves to be lived graciously and with dignity.
I have read, "Life is a do-it-yourself project.

Who could say it more clearly? Your life today is the result of your attitudes and choices in the past. Your life tomorrow will be the result of your attitudes and the choices you make today.

The success, or lack of success, of your YTB business today is the result of your attitudes and the choices you made in the past. What are you choosing to do about the foundation for your future with YTB?

You have the opportunity. You have all the tools you need.

But do you even go into your own back office to explore what you have available to you there? Do you get lost in your search engine and click on every link you see to find out what other opportunities are there for you? Do you treat your business as a business? Have you decided to make money instead making excuses? Are you ready to take action?

I hope that you decide to answer YES to the questions TODAY!

Why Should YOU Attend The Annual YTB Convention?

Somewhat reluctantly I decided to attend last year's YTB convention in St. Louis with Dawn and Tanya, my wife and daughter. I had been working day and night on setting up a new Internet business. How on earth could I take the time to spend four days in St. Louis? What would I gain from doing so?

While in the Chicago area a few weeks before the convention I spoke with Denton Taylor, one of my new YTB friend's. He told me that four RTAs would be receiving bonuses worth about $1 million or more at the convention. This made me decide to take action and prioritize the convention ahead of anything else. I wanted to be there!

After we were home again after the convention, Dawn told her friends that she became a better person from attending the YTB Annual Convention than from going to church for a whole year. That' a pretty strong statement! Read more...

Cultivating Your Self-Esteem: By Brian Tracey

Your self-esteem is probably the most important part of your personality. It precedes and predicts your performance in almost everything you do. It is the energy source or the reactor core of your personality, and how much self-esteem you have determines your levels of vitality, enthusiasm, and personal magnetism. People with high self-esteem are more positive, more likable, and more effective in every part of their lives.

Everything that you do or say or think will affect your self-esteem. Your job, therefore, is to keep your self-esteem high and positive on a continuing basis.

Probably the best definition of self-esteem is this: the level to which you respect and value yourself as an important, worthwhile person. People with high self-esteem feel terrific about themselves and their lives. When you feel really good about yourself, you tend to be the very best person you can possibly be.

Your level of self-esteem is really your level of "mental fitness." It's a measure of how healthy, hardy, and resilient you are in dealing with the inevitable ups and downs of daily life. Your self-esteem determines how much peace of mind and inner contentment you experience. It is also closely linked to your health and levels of energy. People with high self-esteem are seldom sick and seem to have an inexhaustible flow of energy and enthusiasm that progressively moves them toward their goals.

How much you like and respect yourself also determines the quality of your relationships with people. The more you like and enjoy yourself, the more you will like and enjoy others, and the more they will like you. In fact, when your self-esteem is hurt in any way, the very first thing that is affected is the way you get along with people.

To perform at your best and to feel terrific about yourself, you should be in a perpetual state of self-esteem building and maintenance. Just as you take responsibility for your level of physical fitness, you need to take complete responsibility for the content and quality of your mind.

I have developed a simple formula that contains all the critical elements of self-esteem building, and you can use it on a regular basis to assure maximum performance.

This formula is comprised of six basic elements. They are goals, standards, success experiences, comparison with others, recognition, and rewards. Let's take them one at a time. Read more...

To Be Really Successful With YTB

You have joined YTB. Maybe in order to earn an extra few hundred dollars a month. Maybe to build a successful business that will take care of your family for generations.

Pursuing a success lifestyle is worth your time. For years I held on to the dream that I too could have a financially free life. There are many naysayers out there that will try and take away your belief that it’s possible for you. They have tried to steal my dream, but I will not let them and I want to live that dream life that most everyone said wasn't possible.

I encourage you to commit to growing as a person, to take action and stay in action. Hang around with people that support you in your pursuit of your dream lifestyle.

Your life will never be the same. Your successful future is just around the corner.

In my opinion, until life is about choice, you are not successful. If you are stuck somewhere you really do not want to live, you are not successful. If you are forced to do something that you do not even like to do, how can you possibly think you are successful? You are not.

To really be successful you must be able to choose what you do, when you do it and where you do it. This requirement will actually define some relatively well-to-do people as unsuccessful. Why? Because they are still not free to do what they want.

So how do you become free to do what you want? Read more...

The NFL's Kansas City Chiefs Join YTB

This is big... I mean really BIG.

If an organization that is worth hundreds of millions of dollars like an NFL football team believes in the value of having a YTB booking site, then who do you know that would be too cool to share this with now???

This is a major credibility piece that you need to share with everyone you know. Here's the link, to their YTB booking site http://www.chiefstravel.com/ ...check it out.

Here is a link to the news article announcing this partnership between the Kansas City Chiefs and YTB...
Chiefs, YTB International, Inc. Launch Innovative Travel Partnership - PR Newswire

This is a great opportunity for you to print the article and send your prospects to the Chief's booking site. (Imagine the 10% travel commission overrides for the person who signed up this account).

This is one of those rare moments when you get on the phone this week and call every prospect and everyone you gave a disc to and you tell them this: "You have got to get off the sidelines and get into the game. What does the NFL know about YTB that your don't? Let's get your questions answered and get you started today".

Or you call every person you know that you haven't given a disc to and tell them you have something to show them, it will take about 15 minutes, they may or may not be interested....but it's really BIG and they need to see it!

(Don't forget to say "I told you so" to all those that said "no" to you already about the YTB opportunity).

YTB, The Cure For Idea Diarrhea

An entrepreneur will often live and die by all his or her ideas.

Personally, I love great ideas. When I see unique and unusual business ideas, my mind goes into overdrive and I immediately start thinking about all kinds of new possibilities.
Can you relate to that?

Well, recently I had a conversation with Stu, a Canadian business associate, that dramatically changed my perspective regarding the true value of an idea.

And this came from a guy who markets himself “The Idea Guy.”

I asked Stu for his opinion on a new idea that I would like to implement. He wanted to hear about it so we went to a coffee shop and I started up my laptop in order to show him my “impressive idea.” He listened to my “master plan” as I went through all the details and explained how this idea was going to be my salvation. You know, the million dollar idea.

After I finished my explanation, he immediately asked me a question. “Would you like me to show you how to triple the amount of money you will make during the next 12 months?” Of course I wanted to.

I didn’t expect what came next. He grabbed my computer, closed it and said. “Kaare, you don’t need any more ideas. You just need to take action on the ones that you already have. Choose one or more of the programs that you already have joined. Do something with that. Take action!”

That’s not what I wanted to hear, but soon afterwards, it started to sink in.

An Idea By Itself Is Worthless.

Only when someone has taken some kind of action on an idea does it then gain value.
So many would-be entrepreneurs suffer from “Idea Diarrhea.” It’s a disease that stops more entrepreneurs from making the kind of progress they’ve always dreamed of than anything else.

It’s inevitable that ideas breed new ideas. You’ll have a million dollar idea on Monday and as you start working on it, Monday’s idea stimulates another. So on Tuesday you stop working on Monday’s idea and start taking action on Tuesday’s. Then Wednesday comes along, and guess what? You’ve got “another” million dollar idea.

Unfortunately, this cycle continues and before you know it, you’ve got a whole bunch of half-baked ideas not making you any money.

I realize now that the idea itself wasn’t as important as the speed of taking action on the idea. Everyone has ideas but the people who succeed in this world are the ones who take action on their ideas.

People join programs because it seemed like a good idea at the time. Then other things, other ideas, other programs enter our lives and all of a sudden good ideas aren’t such good ideas anymore. The reason was that they failed to take action.

Successful people have something in common; they took action!

All of us have joined YTB, a leader in the largest industry in the world. We have something that has made other people millionaires. Are they smarter than you? Probably not! Do they have better education than you? Probably not!

For most people speed is important. If you don’t do it quickly, it will never get done. The longer you drag your feet the less likely you are to complete it. If you don’t complete the steps necessary to make your travel business a reality quickly, chances are you won’t do it later and you won’t make any money with YTB. Just as you wouldn’t make any money with any other opportunity or any other idea. It’s that simple.

Stu’s lecture made me think and it made me re-commit to YTB. I know now that I want to become a director within two years and I will do what it takes to get there.

And the first step is to take action.
